Pittsburgh Penguins Upcoming Events & Tickets

Event Details
SEASON PREVIEW: The Pittsburgh Penguins enter the 2025–26 campaign with a clear pivot underway — longtime coach Mike Sullivan has been replaced by Dan Muse, and the franchise is shifting toward a youth-driven rebuild under GM Kyle Dubas, following three straight seasons without a playoff appearance. Amid uncertainty surrounding several veteran free agents, the team is placing its bets on emerging talents such as Rutger McGroarty, Ville Koivunen, and forward Philip Tomasino to inject speed and scoring depth into the lineup. At the same time, the Penguins have added experienced depth with offseason signings, including Anthony Mantha, Rafael Harvey‑Pinard, and defenseman Phil Kemp to support the core. As Sidney Crosby enters his 20th NHL season and serves as captain, the success of this transitional year may hinge on whether Pittsburgh can marry veteran leadership with the promise of its rising stars and regain a competitive edge in the Metropolitan Division.

ABOUT PITTSBURGH PENGUINS: The Pittsburgh Penguins are a professional hockey team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1967 as part of the NHL’s first wave of expansion, the Penguins have grown into one of the league’s most successful and recognizable franchises. They play their home games at PPG Paints Arena and are known for their black and gold color scheme, which matches the city’s other major sports teams.
The team rose to prominence in the 1990s, led by superstar Mario Lemieux, who helped deliver the Penguins’ first two Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. A decade later, the franchise rebuilt around another generational talent, Sidney Crosby, who, along with Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, led Pittsburgh to three more championships in 2009, 2016, and 2017. These core players helped define a modern dynasty, combining elite skill with consistent playoff success.
The Penguins are known for their fast, offensive style of play and have a strong fan base that packs the arena year after year. Despite recent seasons of transition and missed playoffs, the organization remains competitive, blending veteran leadership with new talent. With a legacy rooted in star power, bold trades, and championship banners, the Penguins continue to be one of the NHL’s marquee franchises.
