🚀 Season Kickoff Gala (Sep 27, 2025)
The season begins with a gala led by Noseda, featuring Yuja Wang performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, alongside Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Carlos Simon’s Warmth of Other Suns, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol.
🎼 Subscription Series & Program Highlights
- Oct 2–4, 2025: Simon Trpčeski (piano) performs Saint‑Saëns’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Mel Bonis’s Three Dances, and the full Daphnis et Chloé suite by Ravel
- Dec 4–6, 2025: Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony (featuring Camilla Nylund and Tomasz Konieczny), the Adagio from Mahler’s Symphony No. 10, and Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel’s lustige Streiche
- Jan 15–16, 2026: Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1 (with Daniil Trifonov) followed by Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring
- Jan 29–31, 2026: Scriabin’s Symphony No. 3 (“Le Divin Poème”) for the first time in decades, alongside Brahms’s Double Concerto featuring concertmaster Nurit Bar-Josef and cellist David Hardy
🌍 Five World Premieres & Opera in Concert
The NSO will premiere new works commissioned from five composers of varied musical voices: Philip Glass, Valerie Coleman, Carlos Simon, Reena Esmail, and Peter Boyer.
- Apr 29 & May 1, 2026: A concert production of Puccini’s opera Il Trittico featuring soloists Erika Grimaldi, Sabrina Gárdez, Agnieszka Rehlis, Jonathan Tetelman, and Roman Burdenko
- May–June 2026: Noseda leads Glass’s Symphony No. 15 “Lincoln” with baritone Zachary James, paired with Gershwin’s An American in Paris, plus premieres of Valerie Coleman’s piano concerto performed by Michelle Cann, and works by Copland, Ives, Maria Schneider, and Björk as part of the “Promise of Us” Americana series featuring Renée Fleming on May 29–30
👏 Guest Artists & Soloist Highlights
- Isabelle Faust, violinist, performs Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in an all‑Beethoven program (Oct 16–19)
- Pablo Ferrández, cellist, plays Lutosławski’s Cello Concerto within a program including Britten’s Sinfonia da Requiem and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 (Nov 20, 22–23)
- Hilary Hahn and cellist Seth Parker Woods debut Simon’s Double Concerto (Mar 12–14), followed by Schumann’s Manfred Overture and Brahms’s Symphony No. 3

- Chamber performances include Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Haydn, contemporary works, and featured artists such as the Brentano Quartet, Roomful of Teeth, yMusic, PUBLIQuartet, pianist Trifonov, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and others, culminating in performances of Handel’s Messiah under Ton Koopman and Schubert’s Winterreise sung by Matthias Goerne
