Event Details

The Minnesota Twins are preparing for the 2026 Major League Baseball season, which will mark the franchise’s 66th season in Minnesota and 17th season playing at Target Field in Minneapolis. The club enters the year looking to bounce back after finishing the 2025 campaign with a 70–92 record. The upcoming season also begins a new era for the organization, with Derek Shelton taking over as manager following the departure of longtime manager Rocco Baldelli.

As the team moves through spring training in Fort Myers, Florida, the roster is still taking shape with several key position battles and lineup decisions underway. Players such as Byron Buxton, Royce Lewis and Joe Ryan are expected to play central roles for the Twins as they look to compete in the American League Central. The team is also integrating new additions and evaluating younger talent during camp as it finalizes the Opening Day roster ahead of the regular season.

The 2026 season will present both challenges and opportunities for Minnesota. Injuries have already affected the pitching staff, including the loss of ace Pablo López, who is expected to miss the season after undergoing elbow surgery. Despite these setbacks, the Twins are aiming to reshape their roster and establish momentum under new leadership as they pursue a return to postseason contention.
