SEASON PREVIEW: Houston Ballet has unveiled its 2025–26 season, showcasing a mix of beloved classics and bold contemporary works that highlight the company’s artistry and range.
The season opens in September 2025 with John Cranko’s Onegin (September 5–14), a sweeping tale of unrequited love told through rich choreography and dramatic storytelling. Immediately following, audiences can experience Rock, Roll & Tutus (September 18–28), a vibrant mixed bill that fuses modern movement with music that pushes the boundaries of ballet tradition.
Holiday tradition returns with Stanton Welch’s spectacular production of The Nutcracker, running through late November and December 2025. In spring 2026, the stage comes alive with Sylvia (February 26–March 8), a romantic full-length ballet, followed by the return of Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s visually striking Broken Wings (March 12–22), a contemporary masterpiece inspired by the life of artist Frida Kahlo.
The season builds toward summer with An Evening with the Stars (May 28–June 7, 2026), a showcase of the company’s leading dancers, and concludes with the timeless romantic tragedy Giselle (June 11–21, 2026), one of the most enduring works in the classical ballet canon.
