ABOUT: Six the Musical is a high-energy, pop-infused reimagining of the six wives of Henry VIII, turning centuries-old history into a modern, empowering concert experience. Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the show transforms each queen’s story into a fierce solo performance, blending elements of historical narrative with influences from contemporary pop icons like Beyoncé, Adele, and Ariana Grande.
Rather than following a traditional plot, Six stages a live, fictional pop concert in which the queens compete to see who had the worst time with Henry, aiming to win the spotlight. Along the way, they reclaim their voices, challenge how history has portrayed them, and ultimately decide to stand together rather than be defined by a man. Each song is a solo moment for a different queen — Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr — each with its own distinct style and emotional weight.
Originally developed by university students in the UK, Six exploded in popularity after its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. It went on to become a hit in the West End, on Broadway, and in multiple international productions. Critics have praised it for its smart, witty writing, catchy songs, and unapologetically feminist perspective.
With minimal sets and maximum charisma, Six proves that history isn’t just about kings and battles — it’s about voices long ignored, finally getting the mic.
