ABOUT DALLAS STARS: The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in Dallas, Texas. They play in the NHL as part of the Western Conference’s Central Division and call the American Airlines Center their home. The franchise began in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars before relocating to Dallas in 1993, where it quickly established itself as a top-tier team in a non-traditional hockey market. The move marked a turning point, both for the franchise and for the NHL’s expansion into the southern United States.
The Stars reached the pinnacle of success in 1999, winning their first and only Stanley Cup behind a dominant lineup featuring Mike Modano, Brett Hull, Ed Belfour, and Derian Hatcher. Since then, they’ve maintained relevance through various playoff appearances, including a run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020. Known for their fast, aggressive style and strong home-ice advantage, the team has consistently developed and attracted top-tier talent.
In recent years, the Stars have built a balanced roster blending elite youth with seasoned veterans. As of the 2025–26 season, the team is led by offensive stars like Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and new addition Mikko Rantanen, while Jake Oettinger anchors the net as the franchise goaltender. With head coach Glen Gulutzan taking over and a deep playoff-caliber core, the Stars are in serious contention in the Western Conference and are chasing their first Stanley Cup title in over two decades.
