SEASON PREVIEW: The 2025–26 season marks the 33rd campaign for the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL and begins under the leadership of new head coach Joel Quenneville, hired on May 8, 2025, following the dismissal of Greg Cronin. Quenneville rejoins the league after nearly four years off and brings a decorated résumé, including three Stanley Cup titles with Chicago. The Ducks’ off-season features major moves: trading forward Trevor Zegras to Philadelphia, acquiring veteran Chris Kreider from New York Rangers, and selecting center Roger McQueen with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 Draft — strategic steps toward a roster retool designed to end a seven‑year playoff drought.

ABOUT ANAHEIM DUCKS: The Anaheim Ducks are a professional ice hockey team based in Anaheim, California. They compete in the NHL as a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference and play their home games at the Honda Center. The team was founded in 1993 by The Walt Disney Company and originally named the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, inspired by the popular Disney movie “The Mighty Ducks.” They dropped the “Mighty” and rebranded simply as the Anaheim Ducks in 2006 after the team was sold to new ownership. That same season, they went on to win their first and only Stanley Cup in 2007.
The Ducks are known for their loyal Orange County fan base, unique branding history, and a reputation for building rosters around gritty, physical hockey with skilled playmakers. Over the years, they’ve produced NHL stars like Teemu Selanne, Paul Kariya, Ryan Getzlaf, and Corey Perry. The team has gone through a rebuilding phase in recent seasons, developing a young core and focusing on future talent. As of the 2025–26 season, the Ducks are aiming to return to playoff contention under new head coach Joel Quenneville, signaling a shift in leadership and renewed ambitions.
