Swedish extreme metal pioneers Meshuggah have announced The Forty-Year Anomaly Tour, an extensive 2027 North American headline run celebrating four decades of groundbreaking music and relentless innovation. The anniversary tour will feature a career-spanning setlist highlighting the band’s extraordinary musical evolution, from landmark albums such as Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere and Nothing to their acclaimed 2022 release, Immutable. With iconic tracks including “Future Breed Machine,” “Rational Gaze” and “Bleed,” Meshuggah have built an international reputation for their extraordinary musicianship and visually spectacular live performances. The upcoming celebration promises to honor the band’s enduring legacy while demonstrating why they remain one of heavy music’s most innovative and influential acts.
The Forty-Year Anomaly Tour kicks off February 12, 2027, at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, followed by a February 13 performance at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec. The first leg continues through Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Omaha, Nashville, Baltimore and Pittsburgh before reaching Philadelphia, Brooklyn, New Haven and Boston in early March. Following a brief break, Meshuggah return to the road April 15 at Vancouver’s PNE Forum, with additional performances in Portland, Seattle and Salt Lake City. One of the tour’s biggest highlights will be the band’s debut appearance at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on April 21, followed by stops at Oakland’s Fox Theater on April 24 and Inglewood’s YouTube Theater on April 25. The final stretch travels through Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale, alongside major festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach on May 8 and Sonic Temple in Columbus on May 13. The announced itinerary concludes May 14 at Milwaukee Metal Fest.
Legendary Bay Area thrash metal band Testament and acclaimed Colorado progressive death metal group Blood Incantation will join Meshuggah as special guests on the headline dates, creating an exceptional lineup spanning multiple generations of extreme metal. Testament, whose influential career includes classic albums such as The Legacy and The New Order, will bring their signature combination of aggressive riffs, technical precision and thrash metal intensity to the tour. Blood Incantation, meanwhile, have earned widespread recognition for their ambitious fusion of atmospheric death metal, progressive experimentation and cosmic themes, particularly through their acclaimed album Absolute Elsewhere. Together, the three bands promise an unforgettable evening of technical mastery, uncompromising heaviness and boundary-pushing performances. Featuring Meshuggah’s celebrated lineup of vocalist Jens Kidman, guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, bassist Dick Lövgren and drummer Tomas Haake, The Forty-Year Anomaly Tour is set to be a monumental celebration of 40 years of musical innovation, influence and extreme metal excellence.
