Mei Semones Upcoming Events & Tickets

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Mei Semones is heading across North America in 2027 with The Howl Tour, supporting her sophomore album, Howl. Due January 15 through Verve/Interscope, the album follows her acclaimed 2025 debut Animaru and continues her distinctive fusion of jazz, bossa nova, indie rock and chamber pop with lyrics in both English and Japanese. The record takes its name from an experience Semones had during a Fourth of July night in Brooklyn, when neighborhood dogs began howling in response to fireworks — an image that inspired her to think about music as an instinctive way of reaching out and connecting with others.

The Howl Tour begins February 24, 2027 at The Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before visiting Portland, Montreal, Toronto, Semones’ hometown of Ann Arbor, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and New York. After its opening stretch, the tour continues with additional spring dates across North America, including Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver. The run will showcase songs from Howl, including its title track alongside “Akumu,” “Towards Manhattan,” “Kira Kira” and other new material, while also giving Semones an opportunity to revisit music from Animaru and her earlier releases.

Singer-songwriter aron! will join Semones as the special guest on select dates during the opening portion of the tour, including Cambridge, Portland, Montreal, Toronto, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and New York. Current listings do not show aron! for every date on the later spring leg, so the support lineup varies across the itinerary. With Howl introducing the next phase of Semones’ bilingual, jazz-influenced songwriting, The Howl Tour will bring her increasingly adventurous sound to stages throughout the United States and Canada in 2027.
