ABOUT: Yes is an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by Jon Anderson (vocals) and Chris Squire (bass). Known for their intricate compositions, virtuosic musicianship, and ambitious conceptual albums, Yes became one of the defining acts of the progressive rock movement of the 1970s. The classic lineup — featuring Steve Howe (guitar), Rick Wakeman (keyboards), Bill Bruford (drums), Anderson, and Squire — produced landmark albums such as “Fragile” (1971) and “Close to the Edge“ (1972), which combined complex musical structures with symphonic and jazz influences.
Yes achieved commercial success with hits like “Roundabout”, “I’ve Seen All Good People”, and later, the 1983 chart-topping single “Owner of a Lonely Heart” from the album “90125″, during a more pop-oriented phase led by guitarist Trevor Rabin.
Despite numerous lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Yes has continued to tour and release new material, maintaining a loyal fanbase and influencing generations of musicians. In 2017, Yes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing their legacy as pioneers of progressive rock.
