TOUR: Norwegian folk ensemble Wardruna is thrilled to unveil their much-anticipated 2025 World Tour, slated to bring their uniquely immersive, Nordic-infused soundscapes to audiences across the globe. This tour supports their sixth studio album, Birna, released on January 24, 2025, via Sony Music and By Norse Music. Birna, rooted in the Old Norse concept of the “she-bear,” explores humanity’s ancient and intricate bond with nature — particularly with the bear as a sacred guardian and totem.

Wardruna’s touring cycle began in 2024 with a stunning opening performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. That tour spanned across Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and more, featuring performances at iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall and Oslo Opera House. Now, Part II of the World Tour 2025 is set to captivate fans with an extraordinary itinerary, weaving through North America in autumn and Europe in late fall and winter.

In North America, the tour kicks off in September 2025, spanning 17 cities in the U.S. and Canada. The roster includes major venues like Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Auditorium, Los Angeles’s Greek Theatre, Toronto’s Massey Hall, New York’s Beacon Theatre, Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, and more. Renowned artist Chelsea Wolfe will join as a special guest on nearly all dates, excluding Los Angeles.

ABOUT: Wardruna is a Norwegian music group known for their unique fusion of old Norse traditions and modern soundscapes. Founded by Einar Selvik in 2003, the project uses historical instruments like the tagelharpa, kravik lyre, and goat horn, along with natural sounds — wind, water, fire — to create deeply atmospheric music rooted in Nordic heritage.

Their work is heavily inspired by runes, Norse mythology, and the relationship between humans and nature. Wardruna gained global recognition through their Runaljod trilogy, which explored the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark. Later releases like Kvitravn continued this path, diving deeper into themes of animism, ancestral knowledge, and spiritual connection.

Wardruna’s music is often described as ritualistic, not just in sound but in purpose. It doesn’t aim to recreate the past — it seeks to channel it, using timeless tools to evoke something both ancient and immediate. Their work has also reached wider audiences through collaborations and features in media, including the TV series Vikings, where Selvik contributed both music and on-screen performances.
