ABOUT: Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese American stand-up comedian and writer known for his laid-back delivery, sharp observational humor, and quietly subversive takes on everyday life. He first gained national attention as a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and quickly built a reputation in the comedy world for his smooth, conversational style and fresh, grounded material.
Sheng’s breakout moment came in 2022 with his first Netflix special, Sweet and Juicy, produced and directed by Ali Wong. The special earned rave reviews for its deadpan humor, unexpectedly deep insights, and bits about grapes, Costco, and the absurd rituals of adult life.
Sheng has written for and appeared on several major comedy platforms, including Fresh Off the Boat, HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, and Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Presents. He was also a staff writer on the ABC series Fresh Off the Boat, bringing his voice to mainstream television while continuing to tour nationally as a stand-up.
Wang’s comedy often touches on themes of health, identity, laziness, language, and the strangeness of trying to live well in a world that rarely makes sense. His jokes feel effortless but are razor-sharp, delivered with a mellow charm that belies their precision.
