ABOUT: MercyMe is one of the most recognized and influential bands in contemporary Christian music. Formed in 1994 in Edmond, Oklahoma, the band is led by frontman Bart Millard, whose powerful vocals and heartfelt songwriting helped propel MercyMe to national prominence. They broke through in 2001 with the crossover hit “I Can Only Imagine,” a song that remains one of the most played Christian songs of all time and inspired a major motion picture released in 2018.
Known for their blend of worship, pop-rock, and inspirational lyrics, MercyMe has released over a dozen albums and earned multiple Dove Awards, American Music Awards, and Grammy nominations. Their catalog includes chart-toppers like “Word of God Speak,” “Greater,” “Even If,” and “Flawless,” each showcasing the band’s ability to combine deeply personal faith messages with mainstream musical appeal.
Beyond their commercial success, MercyMe has remained committed to their mission of spreading hope through music. They’re active in charitable initiatives and often partner with faith-based organizations to support causes like humanitarian aid, child sponsorship, and disaster relief. Their concerts are known for emotional resonance, powerful worship moments, and messages that connect across generations.
Over three decades into their career, MercyMe continues to evolve musically while staying true to their message — delivering songs that speak to the heart, challenge the soul, and point people toward something greater than themselves.
