SEASON PREVIEW: The 2025 season marks the Los Angeles Chargers’ 66th in the NFL and their ninth since returning to Los Angeles. It also begins a new era under head coach Jim Harbaugh, hired to bring stability and toughness to a franchise that has struggled with consistency in recent years.

With franchise quarterback Justin Herbert at the helm, the Chargers are embracing Harbaugh’s vision of physical play, disciplined coaching, and maximizing their young talent. The offseason focused heavily on reinforcing the offensive line and shoring up the defense, key areas targeted to fuel a rebound after a disappointing 2024 campaign.

The Chargers will play their home games at SoFi Stadium while competing in the ultra-competitive AFC West, where divisional clashes with the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos will define their playoff hopes.

ABOUT LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional football team based in Los Angeles, California, competing in the AFC West division of the National Football League (NFL). The team was founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and joined the NFL in 1970 during the AFL–NFL merger. After spending most of their history in San Diego, the franchise relocated back to Los Angeles in 2017, where they now share SoFi Stadium with the Rams in Inglewood — a cutting-edge venue known for its massive video board and modern amenities.

The Chargers have a long history of offensive firepower and standout players, from Hall of Famers like LaDainian Tomlinson, Junior Seau, and Dan Fouts, to current star quarterback Justin Herbert, who has become the face of the franchise since being drafted in 2020. Despite often being seen as underachievers in the postseason, the Chargers have remained competitive and are known for developing elite individual talent.

In 2025, the team is entering a new era under head coach Jim Harbaugh, who returns to the NFL after a successful stint at the University of Michigan. Harbaugh brings a physical, disciplined approach to a team that has struggled with inconsistency. With Herbert at the helm, a mix of veteran leadership and young talent on both sides of the ball, and a fan base eager for a deep playoff run, the Chargers are looking to re-establish themselves as serious contenders in a stacked AFC.
