Event Details

TOUR: John Legend has announced the “Get Lifted” 20th Anniversary World Tour, a global celebration of his landmark debut album, Get Lifted, which was first released in 2004. The Grammy-winning artist shared that he will be performing the full album live with his band, along with a selection of other career-spanning favorites, offering fans a rare opportunity to revisit the record that first introduced him to the world.

The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off on August 23 at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL, and will continue with shows across major cities, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, St. Louis, Denver, Portland, and Dallas. Highlights include a performance at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 4 and a stop at the Premier Theater at Foxwoods in Connecticut on November 8. The North American run concludes on December 9 in Oakland, CA.

Legend described the tour as a chance to honor the music that shaped his career and to reconnect with longtime fans while introducing Get Lifted to a new generation. With a reputation for soulful, powerful live performances, the “Get Lifted 20th Anniversary World Tour” is set to be both a nostalgic and fresh chapter in John Legend’s journey.

ABOUT: John Legend is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and producer celebrated for his smooth vocals, timeless ballads, and genre-spanning artistry. Born John Roger Stephens in Springfield, Ohio, he began playing piano at a young age and later studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where he honed both his academic and musical skills. His career took off after early collaborations with artists like Kanye West, Alicia Keys, and Lauryn Hill, leading to the release of his debut album Get Lifted in 2004. That record earned him three Grammy Awards, marking the start of a career defined by critical acclaim and commercial success.

Over the years, Legend has released a string of albums that highlight his versatility, from soulful R&B to pop-leaning anthems. Songs like “Ordinary People,” “Save Room,” “Tonight (Best You Ever Had),” and “All of Me” have cemented him as one of the most recognizable voices of his generation. His 2015 single “Glory,” co-written with Common for the film Selma, won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, underscoring his impact not just in music but also in cultural and social conversations.

Beyond his recordings, Legend is widely respected as a performer, philanthropist, and advocate. He has been honored as an EGOT winner — earning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards — one of the few artists in history to achieve this distinction. Offstage, he is actively involved in education initiatives, criminal justice reform, and humanitarian causes. Known for his charisma and commitment to using art as a force for connection and change, John Legend continues to stand as one of the most influential and enduring artists of his era.
