ABOUT: Jeff Tweedy began his music career in the 1980s as a member of the pioneering alt-country group Uncle Tupelo, which he co-founded with Jay Farrar. The band helped lay the groundwork for the alt-country movement before disbanding in 1994.
Following the breakup of Uncle Tupelo, Tweedy formed Wilco, which quickly gained acclaim for its innovative blend of rock, folk, country, and experimental sounds. Albums like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002) and A Ghost Is Born (2004) are often cited as landmarks in modern American rock music, earning critical praise and expanding the boundaries of the genre.
Tweedy’s introspective lyrics and eclectic approach to songwriting have earned him a dedicated fan base and widespread recognition. In addition to his work with Wilco, Tweedy has released solo albums, collaborated with a variety of artists, and produced records for other musicians, including Mavis Staples.
He is also an accomplished author, with memoirs such as Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back) and How to Write One Song, in which he offers insight into his creative process and personal journey.
Throughout his career, Jeff Tweedy has remained a vital figure in American music, known for his authenticity, innovation, and deeply human songwriting.
