About James Barker Band

James Barker Band is one of Canada’s most successful contemporary country acts, blending sharp songwriting with energetic live performances and an authentic small-town spirit. Formed in Ontario, the group broke out in 2015 after winning the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival, quickly earning national attention for their catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Their debut EP, Game On, released in 2017, delivered multiple chart-topping singles including “Chills,” which became their first No. 1 on Canadian country radio and achieved Platinum certification. Since then, they’ve racked up an impressive number of hits like “Keep It Simple,” “Over All Over Again,” “New Old Trucks” (with Dierks Bentley), and “You Didn’t Hear It From Me.” With a knack for balancing relatable storytelling and modern country hooks, the band has become a consistent radio and streaming presence across Canada and beyond.

James Barker Band holds the record for the most No. 1 singles by a Canadian country group in the Mediabase and BDS era. Their success has been fueled not just by airplay, but by their deep connection with fans and reputation for high-energy, down-to-earth performances. From intimate venues to major festivals, they’ve built their career on authenticity, strong musicianship, and a feel-good sound that keeps audiences coming back for more.
