About Halsey
Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane in 1994, is an American singer, songwriter, and activist known for blending pop, alternative, and electronic influences into a distinct, emotionally charged sound. She first rose to fame in the mid-2010s through her debut EP Room 93 and the subsequent release of her 2015 debut album Badlands. With its dystopian themes and confessional lyrics, Badlands became a breakout success, earning multi-platinum status and establishing Halsey as one of the most compelling new voices in pop music.
Halsey’s career has been marked by bold experimentation and genre-crossing albums. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (2017) expanded their reach with hits like “Now or Never” and the multi-platinum collaboration “Closer” with The Chainsmokers, which topped charts worldwide. In 2020, Halsey released Manic, featuring the smash single “Without Me,” a raw breakup anthem that became their first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She followed it with If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (2021), a critically acclaimed project produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails, showcasing a darker, industrial edge.
