ABOUT: Chris Young is an American country music singer and songwriter known for his deep baritone voice, heartfelt lyrics, and blend of traditional and modern country styles. He first gained national attention in 2006 when he won Season 4 of Nashville Star, a country music talent competition. That win helped launch his recording career with RCA Records Nashville.
Born on June 12, 1985, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Chris Young grew up surrounded by music. His self-titled debut album came out in 2006, but his big breakthrough came with his second album, The Man I Want to Be (2009), which featured hits like “Gettin’ You Home” and the title track. He’s since released several successful albums, including Neon (2011), I’m Comin’ Over (2015), and Famous Friends (2021), the latter featuring collaborations with artists like Kane Brown and Mitchell Tenpenny.
Known for his smooth, emotional delivery, Young has earned multiple ACM, CMA, and Grammy nominations. He’s also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, inducted in 2017. Beyond his radio hits, Chris is known for his strong live performances and consistent touring.
