Event Details

Acclaimed jazz keyboardist, songwriter and producer Brian Culbertson is hitting the road in 2027 with The Midnight Tapes Tour, a nationwide headline run celebrating the release of his milestone 30th studio album, The Midnight Tapes. With more than three decades of music and 41 Billboard No. 1 singles to his name, Culbertson continues to push creative boundaries through his distinctive fusion of contemporary jazz, R&B, funk and soul. His latest project marks a particularly ambitious achievement, featuring the multi-instrumentalist performing every instrumental part himself. Built around soulful late-night grooves, vintage-inspired arrangements and rich instrumental textures, the album includes the funk-driven single “’76 Monte Carlo” and a reinterpretation of Bootsy Collins’ “I’d Rather Be with You,” showcasing another exciting chapter in Culbertson’s musical evolution.

The Midnight Tapes Tour is scheduled to launch April 7, 2027, in Akron, Ohio, beginning a 25-date headline run across the United States, with additional performances expected to be announced. The itinerary includes stops in Washington, D.C., Atlantic City, Charleston, Orlando, Clearwater, Birmingham, Cincinnati and St. Louis, bringing Culbertson’s signature sound to theaters and concert halls nationwide. Highlights include an April 8 performance at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., April 22 at The Plaza Live in Orlando, April 23 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater and April 24 at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City Beach. The tour continues through the year before concluding November 6 at Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas, giving audiences an opportunity to experience the new album alongside selections from Culbertson’s extensive catalog.

Culbertson will be joined onstage by an eight-piece band, transforming the intricate arrangements of The Midnight Tapes into a dynamic live experience filled with expressive musicianship, infectious grooves and memorable improvisation. Fans can expect a performance blending new material with established favorites from his celebrated career, reflecting the jazz, funk and R&B influences that have made him one of contemporary instrumental music’s most recognizable artists. Although no separate tour-wide opening act has been announced, select VIP experiences will feature an exclusive performance with band members Adrian Crutchfield and Showcase, along with a pre-show question-and-answer session with Culbertson. With a landmark new album, an accomplished live ensemble and his reputation for energetic performances, The Midnight Tapes Tour promises an unforgettable celebration of music, creativity and soulful connection.
